Nelson Mandela said: “There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.”
This week, while we bemoan scandals and other bad news in other sectors, temperatures will drop to 9 degrees Celsius in Cape Town, 6 in Pietermaritzburg and 4 in Johannesburg.
Businesses who are willing to take up the 67 minute challenge are the only remaining barrier, a safety blanket, as it were, between our society’s children and the total despair of being cold and hungry at this time of the year. The Pietermaritzburg Children’s Home houses 70 of these children. We need your help to do our best for them. This is an appeal to consider the Home as a beneficiary to your willingness to lift our country’s children to the light and our society into a hopeful future.
We call on all companies and individuals to help make a difference in the lives of the children we so proudly serve. Get your staff involved in our “We’re On The Streets So The Children Don’t Have To Be” street collection campaign.
